services.
Until
2003 he was responsible for technical leadership of Arup’s global
energy consultancy business and for a wide range of projects concerned
with the efficient conversion and utilisation of energy.
He
deals with industrial energy management, energy efficiency and energy
systems analysis and has advised the Carbon Trust, the European
Commission, the UK and Cypriot governments and a number of local

advice, both in connection with renewable energy (the full range of
technologies) and with more traditional power.
He undertakes
modelling procedures and expert systems for the design and analysis of
electricity generation and CHP plant/reciprocating engine CHP plant
serving both heating and cooling demands. In waste-to-energy he
undertakes process optimisation and technical, environmental and
economic feasibility.
He has provided energy efficiency surveys
and strategic energy advice to a wide range of clients in the
industrial, commercial and public sectors; provided feasibility, design

In
the renewables sector he has provided feasibility studies for and
outline designs of biomass power and steam turbine plant. He has
provided assessments of heat : power ratios; of emissions and carbon
impacts, assessments of biomass and wind options for MOD sites;
engineering analysis of a range of wave, tidal stream and solar thermal
electricity generation technologies. He has also provided guidance on
the technical and economic impact of various renewable energy
technologies as well as evaluation of the potential for economic
